When I first became a believer miraculously at a Billy Graham crusade, I was on fire with my new relationship with Jesus. I could not get enough of knowing Him every day and completely letting Jesus and God the Holy Spirit transform my life. After 2 years though, I slowly started losing my fire and started drifting away from daily pursuing Him.
My friends did not pursue the things of God, so I followed suit and spiraled down into depravity and a frantic search for happiness. As described in the previous blog, God allowed acute suffering in my life to help me turn back to the daily love affair with Him.
Ephesians 4:17-18 describes how when we are devoid of truth, our minds and souls become a vacuum for darkness. We are deceived into thinking and acting like the world and the devil. This is why it is CRITICAL, that we don’t lose heart in doing good and daily growing in the Lord. In the days in which we live and especially in the days ahead, we must daily be transformed into God’s character, heart, and image. II Corinthians 3:18 Galatians 6:9
“How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates DAY and NIGHT.
He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season. And its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers.”
Psalm 1:2-3
