Adapted from Joyce Meyer’s book
1). First cup of coffee – spend quality time alone with God having a 2 way conversation until the coffee is gone. At bedtime review the wonders God did that day & Thank Him.
2) Dream Big! Set goals you hear from God, take small steps to accomplish & persevere!
3) Help Others it boomerangs blessing back to you. More important to give than receive. 0thers are more important than you. Phil 2:3 Acts 20:35 Compliment 3 people daily
4) Put your expectations in God & His Goodness (not in people who will disappoint). See the good in everything! Romans 8:28
5) Don’t give in to Dread – “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and sound mind!” II Timothy 1:7
6) Learn something new -study your loved ones…what makes them unique, read books, listen to podcasts, study new ways to improve your job, marriage, parenting; new sports, games, dances, things to cook, new Bible verses, new worship & happy songs etc etc etc
7)Refuse to settle -excellence is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. Confront problems, demand the best from yourself. Spend time doing truly important things and give up things that don’t bear good fruit. Don’t settle for “good enuf”
8) Invest in yourself -your success depends on what you think of yourself and whether you see yourself as God sees you (NOT what the world tells you!). You are God’s masterpiece…believe in yourself. Eph 2:10 You are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14 chosen Col 3:12 deeply loved Jeremiah 31:3 Zephaniah 3:17
Do things you love….(loving God & others, laugh, exercise, play, build) Eliminate destructive habits…(overeating, drinking, excessive screens, lusting, coveting, being arrogant etc)
9) Be Adventurous – “life is either an adventure or nothing at all” Helen Keller Choose everyday some sort of adventure. Be Bold! *&%#& the torpedos, full steam ahead! God is ok with mistakes….its your heart that matters…asking forgiveness, learning from your mistakes and moving on!
10) Do something you enjoy – have fun. Every day take time to do something you enjoy. Work is an important part of life but life is more important than work!
11) Live Truly – the Word of God is the only truth that matters. The written and spoken Word of God is Alive and Powerful. Take time to listen to the spoken “still small voice” of God to you as well as emblazoning the Scripture in your heart!
12). Say NO to worry – worry drains the life out of you. “Do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34. Live for Eternity!
13) Slow Down – for fast acting relief, try slowing down! Learn to say NO, don’t overextend or overcommit. Don’t compare your life with others. Enjoy every moment of life…be present with others instead of being “in space or thinking of other things” Unplug media daily. BE THANKFUL about everything!
14) Reject negativity – hope instead…have confident expectation of something good is going to happen, things will work out. God has everything under His control. Be as positive as God is! Be positive…I can do this… I can’t wait to fix the things that are broken.
15) Be patient with yourself – God is long-suffering with you II Peter 3:9 Never put yourself down…”as a man thinks, so he is” Proverbs 23:7. Don’t compare yourself with others. Pray to God for the Grace to be the person He created you to be! Do things that you are good at, successful doing.
16) Receive and give Grace – God treats you the way you treat others…the way you judge and forgive others is the way He does to you. If you give grace to others, He gives unmerited favor to you. Matthew 5:42 7:2
17) Finish a Project – “well done” is better than “well said” Benjamin Franklin
“I have brought You Glory …by finishing the work You gave Me to do!” John 17:4
18) Forgive and Forget – just like God does. Psalm 103 Matthew 6:15. “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:21 Jesus has overcome the world with good. John 16:33. True love is loving those who don’t love you! Matthew 5:44-47
19) Be grateful and thankful – “In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus” I Thessalonians 5:18. Tell God and people you are thankful for them!
20) Be Amazed – be a Mary more than a Martha. Be in AWE of the GREATNESS of GOD!!! Ask God to give you a new revelation of Him every day. See God in everything…His fingerprints are everywhere.
Albert Einstein said, “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle!”
